One channel that will always stop his surfing, at least during a certain time of day, is the Food Network, because Giada DeLaurentiis is apparently very captivating. I have no idea why but he just doesn't seem to hold the same interest in, say, the Barefoot Contessa or Jamie Oliver.
It might have something to do with the fact that he can turn literally anything she says into a somewhat passable innuendo.
Did you know that people tend to be either in love with or repulsed by cilantro? It's genetic, apparently. To some people it tastes like soap, and since cilantro shares some enzymes or some other sciencey term with soap, it makes sense. Thankfully Rob and I both love it because we live in New Mexico and cilantro is basically the president.

This weekend was pretty mellow and I seriously couldn't be happier. For some reason, though, my mind tends to compensate for unstressful periods by giving me super stressful dreams. In this dream-weekend alone, Rob cheated on me with a friend and my great-aunt ended up in a class I was teaching that didn't go super well.
Anyway we more or less did nothing and slept in which is just about the best feeling ever. We did take Cypress to the dog park, where people looked at Rob incredulously because he was wearing shorts. He always wears shorts until it gets very cold, something that I'm constantly finding myself having to answer for to our neighbors. What can I say, he has warm legs (and everything).
Cold in the southwest is interesting, because even if the temperature is low, the sun makes it feel considerably warmer. One day it was 10 degrees Fahrenheit (apparently -12 Celsius) and I was relatively comfortable in a normal hoodie. Cold in Maine is much worse, because the sun doesn't make a damn bit of difference if the temperature is low. Wet cold penetrates, dry cold sits. Apparently Santa Feans don't agree with me, because they're all walking around in arctic parkas on 35-degree days.
Though to be honest even Mainers were baffled by Rob's winter-shorts-wearing proclivity.

Can I just say that football (the American kind) annoys the ever-loving shit out of me? My entire Facebook feed has consisted of "GO PATS" or just "Patriots" as though it's a verb. We New Englanders like the 3 teams we have to ourselves, I guess.
As a sport I think football is pretty damn boring - run, stop, run, stop, lather, rinse, repeat. I like hockey much better, because it has a much quicker pace, fights, and they're on goddamn ice skates. Luckily for me hockey is finally back after an extremely long hiatus, though it's tough to get Bruins games here in New Mexico-no-ice-or-hockey-land.

I think I'm finally feeling motivated to work out. I found an AnyTime Fitness down the road from us which I think will work out really well. My main issue with gyms is when other people are there, particularly people I know and particularly Rob. His gym is a hardcore meathead gym and I really just didn't want to deal, so I think I need my own place to go.
Since Rob came home I've definitely gained a few pounds from the summer and I'm just feeling off. I'm not overweight, nor do I think that being overweight is always an issue, but I know that I'm also unhealthy and that's my main issue. I feel flabby and lazy and like my ass is permanently flat from sitting on it so consistently. It's time to not be gross and to feel good in my body (god, how many times have I said that?).
Plus the ass will never go away so I might as well enjoy it.

I looove the food network. And most guys love Giada because they think she's hot, but she does have a good show!! I think working out in any way just makes us feel better, the endorphins help our confidence :)
